Our History

 

Founded in 2005, East Chicago Urban Enterprise Academy opened its doors as a school of choice to students in Kindergarten through grade four. Recognized as an exemplary school by the state of Indiana for student achievement and growth, ECUEA was able to expand and add a grade level each year thereafter. 

In 2007, the academy was granted an expansion for a middle school building and just two years later celebrated the inaugural graduating eighth grade class. 

During the 2020-2021 school year, our authorizer, Ball State University, renewed our charter for another five years. We are continually reminded of how much we have grown, celebrate the present, and look forward to a bright future!
